13th OKINAWA INTERNATIONAL MOVIE FESTIVAL

The Okinawa International Movie Festival, which started in 2009, was renamed the "Shima Zenbu de O-kina Matsuri” (Big festival for all the Okinawan islands) and this year marks its 13th anniversary.

This is one of Okinawa’s most popular spring events and one of the goals of this festival is to promote the appeal of Okinawa. However, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to explore a new way of holding a film festival online.

After WWII, Kokusai-dori Street became a "miracle mile" where many movie theaters and theater houses were built leading to a remarkable recovery.

With the uplifting feeling of the red carpet events that have been held on Kokusai-dori Street, we are determined to revitalize the entire island in 2021 with the power of entertainment, which has been the source of energy for the people of Okinawa.
