Story
In Chatan, in the central part of the main island of Okinawa, junior high school student Ryo, whose mother died when he was young, lives with his slightly scary father Ryozo and his sickly sister Fuko.
One day, Ryo is fascinated by the beautiful performance of a woman at a local karate dojo, and decides to learn karate, though for some reason he doesn't tell his father. With the help of childhood friend Nagi, he starts secretly going to the dojo, and there meets American boy Kevin, and they become close friends...
Eventually after a certain incident, Ryo discovers the "bitter past" that his father had been hiding. As he learns everything, he comes to make a decision...
